Changes Are Good

Jan 12th, 2010 | By Dan | Category: Featured Story

My first title for this post was Transitioning. Do you know what the common usage for transitioning is?? It means process of changing genders. *SCREECH* That is what its most commonly used for. Of course I don’t mean it to be used that way, nor is it exclusively used just for that purpose, but as soon as I learned that, I figured I better change the title. We don’t want any unnecessary rumors floating around.

Change is coming....

As the New Year and new decade has come the tradition of resolutions are upon us. I did make some resolutions this year. Change is good, improvement is better and everyone can improve in some way. One of my resolutions was to transition, there is that word again, this blog from an opinion blog to a personal experience blog. In other words instead of giving my opinion on a certain subject of sports or result I would write about my own personal sports experience as the year or years go by…event attended, etc.

I’m immersed in the sports world and while its hard keeping up with all the happenings everyday its even harder to write a blog about them, attend to my career and life. Lets face it, no one likes anyone’s opinion but their own. Now I’ll still make a prediction or two here and there. I mean I don’t want to pat myself on the back(yes I do), but I did predict Alabama and Texas in the National Championship before the season.

So from here on out, well after March 1st, the blog will be a more personal sports experience type of blog than an opinion sports blog. Same look, same name, same me..just a different style of blog.I’m actually looking forward to it and I hope you are as well. Have a good year people. This is your year.

  1. You’re a good writer, Dan. That’s why I read your blogs. I don’t care what you write about as long as you write! Happy New Year!

  2. Thank you, Vero. Some people have asked me to write like my old school blogs. Too hard to write all the time, I like writing when I feel like it.

  3. So does this mean you’ll be writing about The Niners, The Raiders, The Giants, The Kings, etc?? ;)
I look forward to your transition!

  4. Probably…as well as other stuff. Do you know WVU and Steelers both play in New Orleans this year. WVU plays on September 25th..I’m hoping the NFL schedules the Steelers for the 26th…:)

  5. Looking forward to reading more! Oh, and if the Steelers play in New Orleans on the 9/26, I know where we’ll be :) !

  6. That would be a hell of a weekend. That would be an ultimate weekend..to the NFL’s ears..please.

  7. I’m so sorry – I was so backed up on Google reader, but I’m SO looking forward to this “change”! I can read more… and understand more… ;o)

And people care about other opinions all the time – otherwise Rush Limbaugh and Howard Stern would not be millionaires.

  8. I hear you, I read most of my blogs on reader, including yours. I wish they had a way to comment from reader.

  9. i agree that finding a blog style / voice is a mystifying voyage… you might want to consider flying to australia to see an Aussie Rules footy game and writing about the experience :-D ! i’d be happy to bring you to a game!!

  10. I love Aussie rules ball…I’d never want to leave Australia.

  11. Very nice.

  12. Hey, I started my own personal sports blog recently, too! I started training for a Memorial Day half marathon and then hurt myself. I totally forgot about this blog (sorry!) until I was on your facebook page today. I haven’t been reading b/c I am not a big football fan – thanks to the Saints of yesteryear. And it does seem like a huge undertaking to write about sports regularly if it is not your full-time job. I’m glad to hear you will be writing more about your personal experiences. Can’t wait to read more!

  13. I checked out…looks good. Good on the half marathon..:)
